Where's the Leadership?
SEPTEMBER 1, 2006 - Leadership means standing up, making a difference, and making hard decisions. When leaders don’t do that, who will?
It’s the responsibility of leaders in Congress to find a national solution to our health care crisis but they’ve done nothing for years.
While Congress isn’t acting, the health care crisis keeps getting worse. Millions more are uninsured – up to 46.6 million today. Health care costs are skyrocketing out of control – we spend $1877.62 million a year. Our country is getting sicker and there is no end in sight – unless Congress acts.
Where is the leadership that makes a real difference in the lives of Americans?
SEIU Americans for Health Care, in coordination with our state campaign in Illinois, has put up billboards to educate these leaders' constituents about the health care crisis and their elected officials' lacking leadership on real, comprehensive health care reform.
